The doctor is out today (probably golfing), and that means today's therapy session takes you back to a features article that appeared in SmokeLong Quarterly, "To Write or Not to Write?".

Speaking of golf, did you hear that Juan Valdez was shot with a golf gun. What was that? What, you ask, is a golf gun? I don't know, but it sure put a hole in Juan.

Yeah. I am at a retreat for women writers, and it's intense. Last night I got to hear a reading by Rita Dove. Then this morning, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my pieces ripped apart by Pam Painter. What I've come to is that I need to learn to edit my writing. I really suck at it.

I worked with Pam Painter during my MFA. Very intense.
