What's on my mind today is getting better as a writer of (short) short fiction. That is the question of the day. How does one get better. One answer is to listen to this song while writing.

But that's not a real answer, is it? What's your answer?

One idea: try new things. Try lots of new things, new modes new styles new new new. Most of it might not work and most of it won't feel like you, but maybe in those experiments a writer could find something to incorporate, some different way to express that which absolutely positively must be expressed—and then appropriate it.

I'm not a particularly good writer and I also don't try experiments or improve, but if you try it and it works for you, let me know!
