Monday Guest @ FlashFiction.Net: Jess Bouchard Finds Inspiration at PostSecrets

Though this may not be flash fiction, I see threads of stories. I feel the urgency and the raw tone. Some do tell stories in a precise handful of words. Each word is utilized to hold its own weight. Nothing fluffy.

This project is definitely inspiring, and relevant to flash writers. When I read PostSecrets, I ask similar questions as I do when I read a flash story. What’s the conflict? What’s the overall arc? Is everything resolved? How did the character change? Why this moment?

A few secrets from November 1, 2009:
“I am a dad through a text.”
I read my husband’s emails. Sometimes I send replies.”
“When my friend was depressed I saved her from suicide, we started dating a few months later. She recently left me, the worst part is having no one to save me. Now that I feel the same way.”
