400 feet below the surface: Divorced: Two Kids. The Ex-Wife, Stacy, is already bitching to him (Jim) about how the hell we're going to get out of the hole? The hell if he knows, and at this point: the hell if he cares what happens to her from this point on. "Shut your mouth"
"But I'm scared Jim!" she tenses, "We've been down here for over six hours and we can't get out!"
Jim turned around, both wearing typical clothes for a descent. "If you'd shut up for a minute? Honey?" dripping with sarcasm, "Then maybe we could actually get somewhere?"
"Bats!!!" she automatically ducks down, but falls down to her knees and she hears a bone crack. Or did she? The world is so strange down here.
Meanwhile, the ex-husband is laughing at her.
"You think that this is funny?" screaming in agony, while Jim just laughs harder.
"Maybe I should leave you down here? See what you've done to me over the years?"
She blacks out, past the point of consciousness. In her dreams, paranoia, all she feels is cold, dirt, and stone, beginning to encompass her, swallowing her entire being. Barbarian savagery would be a helpful liberation from this mental ordeal. Salvation isn't in sight. Or is it? Awaking back inside of…their home? Doctors are hovering beside the door speaking to her new husband (Daniel). Meanwhile, Stacy is hearing mumbles and bumbles of words about the shootout in the fast food store. Her previous husband is long since dead? What? Then what just happened? Jim rescued her from the robbers? But he was dead? How could he have? He'd saved her from hell?
